The publication “Haltung zeigen, Demokratie verteidigen! Museen in Zeiten politischen Drucks” translates the visual identity of the event into a consistent editorial design. Geometric forms, bold typography, and strong colors create a structured yet dynamic layout that makes the content engaging and accessible.

For the conference “Taking a Stand, Defending Democracy! Museums in Times of Political Pressure”, we developed an editorial design that builds on the event’s existing visual identity. Our goal was to create a coherent design language that reflects the urgency of cultural institutions under pressure while offering readers an engaging and visually guided experience.

By transferring the event’s visual language into publication design, we ensured continuity and a strong brand presence across all media.

Layout Description

The editorial concept draws on the event’s graphic elements—monochrome imagery, interlocking rectangular forms, and vibrant colors. These design elements were extended into the publication as a flexible grid system that balances structure with creative freedom for text and visuals. Special chapter divider pages highlight each section with large-scale typography and live sketches from the conference, breaking up the rhythm and drawing readers into the content. The result is a publication design that is both structured and dynamic, making cultural debates visually accessible to a broad audience.
